H.V & L.V Protection Course Overview
The H.V & L.V Protection Course we offer is classroom based and combines both theory and practical exercises. Some of the topics covered in this course include:
- Need for protection systems
- Distinction between Load and Fault Currents
- Classification of Faults and Protection Philosophy
- Faults and Fault Levels
- Fault Level Calculations
- Measurement Devices (CT's and VT's) and their characteristics
- Protection Devices, Principle of Operation and Application to:
- Generators
- Transformers
- Motors
- Distribution System
- Primary and Secondary Test Methods (Maintenance & Commissioning)
- Practical Testing of a selection of Protection Relays
The course lasts for 5 days and an exam is taken on the last day. Technaware Ltd has a high percentage pass rate for this course. This course can either be presented at Technawares training room or offbase at the clients offices.
